“Ask Photos” is a conversational way to find specific photos in your ever-expanding image library.
Improving the search experience is crucial because our online photo libraries are getting bigger and bigger every year. That means it's harder to find those photos from Dad's 60th birthday without sifting through so much other stuff. Google says more than 6 billion images are uploaded daily to Google Photos, and nearly half a billion people use the app's search function every month. This update works in two separate parts.
Other things I tried included finding my license plate by describing my car—it pulled several images of my car and gave me my correct license plate number. I also asked for the top 10 things I did in Japan when I visited in 2023, but I don't know how useful some of this would be to share with someone else planning a trip. The curated list included things like “Immersed yourselves in art and culture at museums and galleries' or “Took a romantic stroll through cherry blossom gardens.
