Let me just state the obvious here. I’m a big fan of trash talk.

It looks like Alabama football is going to miss the first 12-team playoff. The latest Tuesday rankings drop by the College Football Playoff committee had the Crimson Tide at No.13 behind teams like No.9 SMU, No.10 Indiana, No.11 Boise State and No.12 Clemson. Call me crazy, but I still like Alabama’s ability to win the national championship if the Tide can somehow anger all of America and back its way into the CFP. First things first, though, Alabama needs to take care of rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
Another question for the Thanksgiving table while you dole out Aunt Rhonda’s ambrosia salad: Should Alabama or Auburn have hired Lane Kiffin? I don’t care what anyone says. For obvious reasons, it’s harder to win at Ole Miss than it is at Auburn. It’s always going to be that way, too. Kiffin said he turned down the job at Auburn, but I don’t believe that for a second. Kiffin is smart. He just knows that Freeze is building a powerhouse at Auburn and that he needs to say and do anything to keep the Rebel Land Shark Black Bears relevant.
