The boy’s barber and a coworker of his mom at the Faith Beauty Salon in the neighborhood told The Post they were heartbroken by the news of his killing.
“I’ve been cutting his hair for the last three years. He was here three weeks ago,” the barber, a 52-year-old man who did not give his name, said.
“If I see him in the street, he’d hail me up — ‘What’s up, barber?’ He always called before he came in. He’d sit and wait patiently. He was very disciplined. When he is leaving, he’d say ‘thank you.’”The slain boy, who has not been identified by police, was shot in the head while he was sitting in a car on East 56th Street and Linden Boulevard in East Flatbush just after 7:45 p.m., police said.
“The gun violence is too much. It’s sad, you know, it’s sad. It’s unreal. Only God can stop it. Who else?” the salon worker said.
