BREMEN, Germany - Forty-year-old Claudio Pizarro handed Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga title hopes a potentially fatal blow when he scored Werder Bremen’s equaliser, completing their fightback from two goals down, in a thrilling 2-2 draw on Saturday.
Kevin Moehwald pulled one back with a shot which slipped through goalkeeper Roman Buerki’s legs in the 70th minute and Peruvian veteran Pizarro rifled home the equaliser as Werder capitalised on a defensive mix-up five minutes later. The visitors got off to a flying start as Pulisic collected the ball near the halfway line, nut-megged an opponent, ran through the middle of the Werder defence and slipped the ball between Jiri Pavlenka and his near post in the sixth minute.
The Spaniard sent a dipping shot over the wall and into the bottom corner from 25 metres as he scored his 18th goal of the season and the third from a free kick.
