Netflix's musical 'Emilia Pérez' leads the pack with 10 nods, while Karla Sofía Gascón's potential win for best actress in a musical or comedy film would make history as the first out transgender performer to win a top film-acting category at the Globes. Other notable contenders include Adrien Brody for 'The Brutalist' and newcomers like Cooper Koch for 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story'.
“I feel nothing but complete assurance and confidence in me being able to do this,” Glaser, perhaps best known for her triumphant roast of Tom Brady in 2024, recently told Vanity Fair. “There’s been some jobs I’ve gotten before that I’m like, I hope I can do this; this is a lot of pressure. This, I’m just like, Yeah, they picked the right person. No one’s gonna work harder than me at this.
Host Nikki Glaser is also nominated at the three-hour awards show, where she’ll contend for best performance in a stand-up comedy on TV. “Being nominated is such an afterthought. It would be like finding out you got a promotion at work when you’re about to have a baby or something,” she told VF, later adding, “Honestly, as a host, I’m like, It’s funnier if I lose. I’m going to have a moment after the award is given out, whether I win or lose, where I talk about it.
