The King of the Monsters returns in a new Marvel Comics crossover event, teaming up with Knull to wreak havoc across the cosmos. This five-issue miniseries features heroes and villains joining forces to combat Godzilla's destructive reign.
The King of the Monsters returns to go on an even more destructive tear in the latest Marvel Comics crossover event. Following a successful partnership in 2025, which saw Marvel team up with Toho for a series of six one-shots pitting Godzilla against Marvel’s greatest icons, the creative team has unleashed a new five-issue miniseries.
This new story, set in a vague point in Earth-616’s history, features every hero and even some villains joining forces to stop Godzilla from annihilating the world. The previous crossover, masterminded by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Javier Garrón, this time welcomes Ig Guara to the team. The previous adventure concluded with Godzilla being transported off Earth to a desolate planet. The beast was then discovered by Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, who recognized the kaiju's destructive potential and decided to weaponize it. Marvel has delivered the follow-up quickly, and the story is just as entertaining as the previous crossover, if not even more so.\Knull's weaponization of Godzilla has enabled the kaiju to conquer countless worlds, and the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda finds itself under siege. Black Bolt arrives to offer aid, and his powerful voice deals significant damage to both Godzilla and Knull’s symbiotes, but it’s not enough to prevent the city from falling. The Galactic Senate plunges into chaos, unsure how to halt Godzilla's rampage. However, the Avengers and several other teams are en route to provide assistance. The Guardians of the Galaxy swiftly head towards Knull’s ship, intent on separating him from Godzilla. However, Knull anticipates their arrival, and in the ensuing battle, the Guardians uncover Knull’s new plan: Deploying the Godwyrm on Yggdrasil, the World Tree, to assimilate and nullify all life in the universe. While the Guardians fall in battle, Odin prepares Asgard for the impending invasion. Meanwhile, the Fantastic Four venture into deep space in an effort to recruit Galactus, hoping he can stop Godzilla and Knull.\This new crossover proves to be a thrilling read, filled with humor, spectacle, and escalating stakes. Duggan, Garrón, and Guara form an incredible creative team, and their collaboration delivers a compelling narrative. Duggan’s skill in pitting Marvel icons against Godzilla is masterful, and the inclusion of Black Bolt adds an exciting dynamic. Garrón and Guara's artwork seamlessly blends alien worlds and beings with Godzilla, making him just as comfortable in the cosmic settings as he is destroying cities on Earth. While the non-stop action might not appeal to every reader, the story delivers on its promise of thrilling kaiju action, and is very entertaining to follow through the chaos and destruction. Those who have read the previous crossover will be rewarded more due to the prior context. This comic is filled with the humor and action of the previous release, while the stakes rise, with an interstellar backdrop. The potential for Godzilla's destructive reign across the cosmic side of Marvel is vast, and this issue will leave readers wanting more. The creative team has made a very exciting comic for any fan. So, if you're in need of crazy kaiju action, this is the comic you are looking for
