Go digital to be more competitive, association urges Sabah SMEs

KOTA KINABALU: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sabah are urged to consider going digital to be more competitive in the new year.

Small and Medium Enterprise Association of Sabah president Datuk Foo Ngee Kee said digitalisation helps increase productivity and lower the costs of production.

“For SMEs embarking on new business ventures, consider business in the new economy of using digital apps to provide solutions and convenience to consumers,” said Foo. “2022 saw the re-opening of the economy for Sabah and Malaysia after the Covid-19 pandemic,” Foo said.He said food and beverage businesses that depended largely on local customers have the strongest recovery, while hotels that depend on international arrivals have the weakest.
