Richard Madeley has been told to 'calm down' by Good Morning Britain viewers as he rounded off his three-day stint at the helm by getting into a fiery chat with one of the show's guests. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Wednesday with Susanna Reid.
During the chat, Richard Richard asked their guest: "Why should somebody who maybe had an ancestor seven or eight generations ago, long before they were a twinkle in their great-great-great grandparents' eye, why should they have to pay now for what an ancient ancestor did? A bit later in the conversation, Richard was heard saying: "One of the points you've been making today is about our Royal Family. And you feel that it's not just about the finances involved here in terms of reparations for slavery," at which point Richard thumped his hand against the table and continued: "It's about the gestures.
