Google are rolling out an important security update in a bid to keep accounts safe and secure.
Google has recently announced a new batch of upgrades to its email service in a bid to stop hackers from accessing inboxes. The update will give accounts additional security alerts in hopes that they will stop important parts of the platforms from being subject to hacks and scams.
Users will not only be warned about login attempts but will also allow these attempts to be blocked as access will not be granted without permission. "When these actions are taken, Google will evaluate the session attempting the action, and if it’s deemed risky, it will be challenged with a “Verify it’s you” prompt," the US technology giant confirmed on a blog post.
"Through a second and trusted factor, such as a 2-step verification code, users can confirm the validity of the action. If a verification challenge is failed or not completed, users are sent a “Critical security alert” notification on trusted devices," the company added.
