Globe Telecom Inc. blocked 1.1 billion scam and spam messages in the first quarter of 2023, five times more than the 217.31 million recorded in the same period last year, the telco announced Friday, April 21. ManilaBulletin
With the heightened campaign against scammers and the push for SIM registration, Globe's blacklisted SIMs from its Stop Spam portal soared to 22,455 from January to March 2023 versus only 1,812 in the comparative period.
Last year, Globe blocked a record 2.72 billion scam and spam messages, more than double the 2021 level of 1.15 billion amid a strengthened campaign against fraudsters.“At our core, we remain committed to providing a secure digital experience for our customers," says Globe Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio.
