BREAKING: Global coronavirus hotspot New York has 10.8k new diagnoses and 630 deaths in 24 hours
A casket is loaded into a hearse in New York City on Wednesday, with the city recording more than 10,000 new coronavirus diagnoses between Friday and Saturday morning hotspot New York has seen coronavirus infections rocket by 10,841 overnight, with 630 more deaths caused by Covid-19. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday that a total of 113,704 people across New York state have been diagnosed with coronavirus, with a total of 3,565 killed across New York.
Governor Cuomo said 15,505 people are currently in hospital with Covid-19, with 4,126 patients in intensive care. He added that 10,478 people who were hospitalized have been discharged, and said that around two thirds of people admitted to hospital are subsequently recovering.New York City is the state’s coronavirus update, with diagnoses rising by 6,147 to 63,606 overnight. Around 1,800 people have been killed by coronavirus across the Big Apple’s five boroughs.
Cuomo said: ‘This stresses this country, this state, in a way that frankly nothing else has in my lifetime.
