12News is uncovering how pitfalls in the criminal justice system allowed a violent offender to strike twice in the Valley.
has released new bodycam video following the arrest of a man who fired his rifle almost a dozen times early Sunday morning.
According to police, Bermudez is a prohibited possessor following a conviction from 2012 and shouldn’t have had a gun. Bermudez had four guns; one was stolen, police said. At 2:50 AM, ShotSpotter alerted our officers of 11 shots fired. Eric Bermudez was arrested for shooting a gun within city limits, a violation of Shannon's Law. Eric was in possession of 4 guns, one was reported stolen! Your safety doesn’t sleep, neither does our commitment.Police dispatch then received a call from a witness who was at the home and was able to share the precise location. The witness alerted the police that a child was inside the house, as well as the suspect’s girlfriend.
