The trailer for PokerFace reveals GlassOnion director Rian Johnson's next whodunit murder mystery.

Glass Onion director Rian Johnson's next whodunit has been revealed in the new trailer for Poker Face. The series, which is a Peacock original, was created by Johnson, who also directed the first two of the season's 10 episodes.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Today, Peacock shared the new official trailer for the series ahead of Poker Face's official release on January 26, when its first four episodes will drop. The trailer explores the reason Charlie needs to hit the road when her job as a casino worker lands her in hot water, and she is targeted by a crime boss. She seems to be followed by a death curse, with murder mysteries cropping up everywhere she goes as she tries to avoid the "wolves on [her] fender.

It would certainly be fair for fans to fret that Poker Face might hew too closely to the Knives Out films, especially considering the fact that those films follow a similar format, with Blanc encountering a new mystery each time. However, the true intention of Poker Face is hidden in the trailer's 1970s-inspired soundtrack.

Poker Face might also be a whodunit series, but its influences are very different. While Knives Out and Glass Onion draw from the puzzle box mysteries of Agatha Christie including And Then There Were None and Evil Under the Sun, this new series takes a more contemporary episodic approach.
