There's nothing a parent wouldn't do for their child ❤️

A Glaswegian who lost both her legs after suffering from meningitis is thankful to her mum - who helped her get a kidney after she was diagnosed with acute kidney failure.

After discovering she wasn't, she entered the UK Living Kidney Sharing Scheme which allowed her to donate to someone who was a match, in order for her daughter to receive a kidney from an altruistic donor "match". "I don't know who donated their kidney to me, but I matched this angel. The early signs are good, I have a good kidney which will hopefully last me for the rest of my life. It's just awesome, and I hope on some level they know what they've done for me.

"The only thing I can't do with prosthetics is run, jump or walk too far, but I've learned to accept it. I would do anything to prevent having kidney disease because it was so hard." A living kidney donation plays a vital role in increasing donation and transplantation rates in Scotland, with a kidney from a living donor generally offering the best outcomes for patients in need of a transplant, the organisation said.
