A Glasgow woman had skin and muscle tissue removed from her left arm to fill a hole in her throat after she successfully battled a rare cancer. Victoria Christie noticed a lump in her mouth begin to grow and change colour. The 29-year-old visited the doctor in August last year and had two biopsies. However, medical experts were still uncertain about the lump. The Pollok woman was eventually diagnosed in January with a salivary gland tumour, which is a rare form of cancer. It is believed that only 720 people are diagnosed with the condition each year in the UK.
