The popular Wetherspoons will cease trading next month 😞
Bosses have announced that the Sir John Stirling Maxwell venue in Shawland's will shut, with the pub to cease trading on March 26. The news comes after locals at the Kilmarnock Road pub reported spotting signs letting customers know about a closure soon.
The pub itself has yet to announce an official closing date, but Wetherspoons spokesperson, Eddie Gershon, earlier confirmed the news. Wetherspoons have also confirmed that all the staff at the bar will not be made redundant and will instead be offered jobs in other venues run by the chain.The spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the pub will not trade after March 26. We cannot, as yet, confirm the final trading day.
