The railway line between Dalmuir and Yoker is set to be closed for four days this month as Network Rail upgrade the track that runs through the 127-year-old Dalmuir Twin Tunnels
Network Rail has announced the closure of the line between Dalmuir and Yoker station as they aim to replace ageing track. The work, which is due to begin on September 22, will include the upgrading of the line through the 127-year-old Dalmuir Twin Tunnels, renewal of switches and crossings and the installation of new brackets to support the rails on Platform 5 at Dalmuir station.
Kevin Haddow, project manager at Network Rail, said: “The work we are undertaking is vital for the long-term future reliability of the line. “We’ve worked closely with ScotRail to divert trains via the Singer route, to keep passengers on trains wherever possible.
