'It can cost parents so much money these days.'

Almost £4000 has been approved to fund two residential school and Scout group trips to the countryside this year by the Cardonald area partnership.

The extra cash, alongside money raised from fundraising, will help reduce the cost per child from £187.50 to £104.17 and contribute to the cost of travel, accommodation, meals and all outdoor activities. Cardonald councillor Alex Wilson said: “We awarded this funding which is great because I like giving the schools money for trips.
