George Evans has told of the tragic moment his beloved dog Hamish died in his arms after a hit and run in Dennistoun on the evening of April 9, leaving him utterly 'devastated'.
A Glasgow pet owner has told of the tragic moment his beloved dog died in his "arms" after he was struck by a car.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, George said: "I could hear a car coming, as I turned around it hit him head on as he was slightly in front of me" - the devastated owner recalled the moment saying newly placed bins on the street "obscured" his vision, making it difficult to see oncoming traffic however, claims the car was driving "very close" to the pavement.
George then chased the car on foot, before going back to Hamish's aid, who tragically took his "last breath" in his "arms". Neighbours and passersby heard the commotion and immediately offered their help, one woman brought a blanket to keep little Hamish warm before police and Glasgow's 24 hour Vets Now Hospital were called for advice.
