'In a strange way, it allows me to stop worrying.'

At his lowest ebb, Duncan Campbell considered suicide, but he says that he has actually found a 'route to happiness' since being diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in February 2021.

“Before my diagnosis, I was constantly criticising myself; when I tried to plan for the future, I was overcome with anxiety. Duncan, who lives in Anniesland, has since shared his story by writing his book The Suicide Notes which aims to encourage others to make the most of their lives. “This book gives an unfiltered insight into my mind going through depression, being diagnosed with terminal cancer, and finding happiness.

"For people who care about somebody they think might be struggling, it’s hard to have that conversation. I hope my legacy can be to make it a bit easier for those conversations to start. He will deliver the spoken-word performance at Gladstone's Land from August 14 to 25 and says it is a dream come true to be able to do it.
