The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the blaze within a B-listed building on Carlton Place at around 8.05pm on Monday evening - crew remain at the scene this morning.

Crews were alerted to a fire within a B-listed building on Carlton Place in Glasgow at around 8.05pm on Monday evening . Seven trucks were dispatched to the scene, including high-rise appliances.

The 'well-developed' inferno took over a three-storey building on Carlton Place which is not currently in use. To our understanding, it has lay empty since the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice moved out six years ago. A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crew remain at the scene this morning .It comes just months after firefighters tackled a wilful fire in the area following the discovery of a ‘cannabis cultivation’ within a historic building.
