Glasgow City Council said essential services will continue but all other services will close.

Household bin collections will be suspended next Monday on the public holiday for the Queen’s funeral.There will be a cleansing operation for parks and street bins but no domestic pick-ups will take place.Bereavement services including funerals that have already been booked will go ahead.Plans for catching up on the household bin collections are being drawn up.

“Our focus will be on providing essential services to ensure vulnerable citizens receive support and the city remains safe. “Any funeral already confirmed with the council’s bereavement services for September 19 will go ahead as scheduled.
