A north Glasgow youth group who are organising a Halloween event avoided a fright – thanks to a local councillor and GlasGLOW event organisers.
The Canal Youth Forum is putting on a pumpkin trail on October 30 at Cowlairs Park triangle with dunking apples, sweets and a disco. On hearing about the predicament, Labour councillor Fiona Higgins reached out to GlasGLOW, which is run by deal site itison, for assistance.
Councillor Higgins said: “The forum thought they had funding but it fell through. The children wouldn’t have had any snacks or refreshments. It is a low income area. They asked if I knew anyone who would be able to to help. It is important for all the children to have the same stuff.”The Canal politician said GlasGLOW were “thrilled” to help and a significant order of marshmallows has been made.
Forum chair Hayden Aitken said a lot of young people don’t get to experience Halloween due to the cost of living crisis.Comments & Moderation Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
