It's been two months since hurricane helene ripped through the eastern U.S., destroying homes, buildings, roads and much more.
Two months after the storm hit, a North Carolina woman is making sure victims of Hurricane Helene are not forgotten this holiday season.After the storm hit Asheville, Dana Flaherty visited the area with her family to help those affected. She returned home filled with emotion.
Seeing the need for support in the Asheville community, Flaherty created her own Facebook group called "Through the use of social media, almost 3,000 people have come together in an effort to bring holiday spirit, donations, gifts and clothes to those still struggling from Hurricane Helene. “When you adopt someone in the group from the wish list, it gets shipped right to them," Flaherty said.
