KUCHING, March 21 — Sarawak Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Liwan Lagang today called for commitment and close cooperation from the federal government, especially in providing more funds for the implementation of telecommunication infrastructure in Malaysia’s largest state.

He was responding to a recent statement by federal Minister of Communications and Digital Ahmad Fahmi Fadzil that the current 4G network coverage in Malaysia is 97 per cent of populated areas. “In the post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030, which is a comprehensive plan to steer Sarawak towards a high-income economy region by 2030, one of the key enablers to accelerate the economic growth is through Digital Transformation.”
