Melissa Benoist leads the Max show.

Summary Four female journalists with vastly different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives bond while on the campaign trail in The Girls on the Bus.

Carla Gugino: It's super instinctual, I have to say. I think oftentimes what I've noticed more retrospectively is that I do tend to want to do something different than what I just did. And I think in this particular case, I had done the fall of the House of Usher and then Lisa Frankenstein, which were very different from each other also.

Christina Elmore: Yeah, I've played a lot of, recently, women who are like me. They're really ambitious, and they know exactly what they want, and they've got it all together on the outside, but then inside, they're falling apart, and she falls into that category. Carla Gugino: Yeah. I think what's interesting is that Grace has very strong opinions, and she also has a good quality, which is she's okay to have those opinions changed if it's done in the right way. And I think with Lola — For Grace, the idea of TikTok and journalism in the same sentence, it just makes her skin crawl. She's like, "That's not real journalism.

I love it. And then this question is for both of you, this is such a phenomenal cast. Is there a moment you remember with another cast member where they really knocked it out of the park as a scene partner and helped elevate your own performance? I had very few scenes with Brandon Scott and with Scott Foley. But I would say that in both times, the very few experiences where we were in scenes together, I also was super impressed with both of their — I think that Brandon brings actually a vulnerability and a reflection of Sadie that she really doesn't want to see in such a beautiful way. And I think that usually that's given to the woman to do. And I think he does something really interesting with that.
