Published: Nov. 06, 2023, 10:17 a.m.Mary Becker, special to cleveland.comhas had the Northeast Ohio golf community on notice since she was an incoming freshman. Now a senior, Goyette,, wrapped a legendary career with a runner-up finish at the OHSAA Division I state tournament.
She shot a 70 on Day 1 at Ohio State’s par 70 Gray course, and followed it with a 73 on Day 2. Her 143 tied three other golfers for second place and was seven strokes shy of the state champion. Her 70 on the first day was the third lowest 18-hole round of the entire tournament and led the Hornets to a fourth place team finish.
