A girl was rescued from a Nottinghamshire river by emergency service workers after going missing near a park. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to West Bridge, linking the A614 Blyth Road, near the National Trust's Clumber Park in Bassetlaw on Friday, March 15, after a teenage girl went missing in the River Poulter.
Crews from across the county then managed to locate the missing girl and rescue her, the fire service said. Four appliances and two specialist rescue teams were mobilised to the incident from Worksop, Edwinstowe, Newark, and Highfields. East Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team and Nottinghamshire Police were also deployed to the scene. Tom Archer, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, area manager said: “I would like to recognise the hard work and professionalism of our staff and that of our blue light colleagues. Thanks to their quick deployment we located the casualty and EMAS HART were able to treat immediately meaning the incident was resolved with a positive outcome.
"I would encourage everyone to be aware of the dangers before they enter the water and to follow the local signs. More information on water safety can also be found on our website”
