Updated: A 3-year-old girl died after she was taken to a local hospital from a shooting scene inside a Frederick home.
Officers and personnel with Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District responded to 911 call about a shooting, the release said. The girl was taken to a local hospital where she later died.The girl was identified Wednesday by the Weld County Coroner’s Office as Avery Elaine Eskam.
She died Sunday at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont in the emergency department, the coroner’s office said in a news release. She died as a “result of injuries sustained from an incident that occurred in her home,” the release said. “The final cause and manner of death will await the completion of autopsy and laboratory testing.”
