AKRON, Ohio — A 3-year-old girl was killed Monday afternoon when she was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in the East Akron neighborhood.
The incident occurred at about 2:12 p.m. on the 1100 block of Palmetto Avenue, police say. The 3-year-old girl ran into the path of a Honda CRV that was driven by a 42-year-old woman and was hit, knocking the girl to the ground. The driver of the CRV was not aware she hit the child, according to police.
