Gillian Anderson playfully answered a question that’s perplexed many fans of “The X-Files” for over two decades. In a video posted to TikTok on Aug. 2, the actor jokingly addressed why she kissed her co-star David Duchovny before her real-life boyfriend Rodney Rowland after she won an award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series in 1997.
I guess because he was on the show with me and we were practically married because we spent more time with each other than we did with our loved ones,” she says. “And we were there to celebrate the series. And so yeah, maybe that’s what it was.” It's a mystery that's haunted some of Anderson's fans for decades, especially as the two actors played one of TV's most famous will-they, won't-they couples.
