Injury wise, it’s not looking good for the Giants ahead of their Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
New York Giants medical personnel walk rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers to the locker room after he suffered a concussion late in the fourth quarter, Thursday, Sept. 26 2024, in East Rutherford, N.J. The Cowboys won, 20-15., who’s still in the protocol and continues to make progress, but is not at the point where he’s ready for on-field football activities.
Nabers, 21, sustained his concussion late in last Thursday night’s home loss to the Cowboys. He’s had an excellent first four NFL games, posting 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns. If/when he can’t go — which would be devastating for a Giants offense that has gone six straight quarters without scoring a touchdown — then the Giants will lean on Jalin Hyatt and Darius Slayton as the outside receivers.
Hyatt has seen a limited role this season — three targets, zero catches, 51 snaps . Slayton has had a more prominent role — 15 targets, 10 catches, 217 snaps . This game could be a showcase opportunity for both players.Starting running back Devin Singletary will not practice for the second straight day after getting hurt against Dallas. His status for Sunday is up in the air, though Daboll said he does not view it as a long-term injury. Look for Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Cornerbacks Dru Phillips and Adoree’ Jackson returned to practice Thursday, albeit in limited roles.
