And while coach Brian Daboll said before Thursday’s practice that he isn’t ready to officially rule out Jones for Sunday night’s game at the Bills, you can surely forget about him playing.

Jones got hurt in last week’s loss at Miami. And while this isn’t considered a long-term injury, Jones still needs to be cleared for contact. So Tyrod Taylor is on track to start in Buffalo. These players also will miss a second straight practice Thursday, which means they’re surely not going to play Sunday: outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari , offensive tackle Matt Peart , center John Michael Schmitz , and left tackle Andrew Thomas .

These guys didn’t practice Wednesday, but will practice in some capacity Thursday: tight end Darren Waller , wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson , and inside linebacker Micah McFadden .about Jones’ chances of playing in Buffalo. But Daboll acknowledged that sense was just based on his Monday conversation with Jones. Daboll said he still needed to speak with the Giants’ medical staff.

That remains unclear. But it sure appears as though he won’t miss six games with this neck injury, like he did in 2021. That season, a neck injury — different from the one he’s currently dealing with — sidelined him for the final six games of the season. The Giants went 0-6 in those games.Thank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust. Please consider supporting us with a subscription.
