Giants general manager Joe Schoen has a better feel this time around as to what a “Wink player’’ embodies after watching the defensive coordinator
Joe Schoen, of course, wants to select defensive players in the upcoming NFL draft who are perfect fits for Wink Martindale’s scheme.
Earlier in the offseason, Martindale interviewed with the Colts and he has made no secret of his desire, at age 59, to become a head coach, sooner rather than later. Schoen said the greatest learning curve he had to navigate was figuring out what sort of skill sets Martindale prefers for his front seven: the defensive linemen, edge rushers and inside linebackers.
