This is bad.
Tight end Darren Waller — who struggled with a hamstring injury last season with the Raiders — hurt his hamstring in Sunday’s game against the Jets. And he won’t return.
And they’re already playing Sunday, for a third straight game, with quarterback Daniel Jones . Left tackle Andrew Thomas is absent again, too. He last played in Week 1. Waller’s latest hamstring issue Sunday seemingly didn’t come out of nowhere. He was listed as questionable for Sunday with a hamstring injury, after being a limited participant all three days in practice. Waller was not on the injury report at all leading up to last week’s win over Washington.
Earlier this season, Waller was listed as questionable for Week 1. Though he was listed on the injury report with a hamstring issue, he downplayed it, saying it stemmed from nerve compression due to tight muscles. He said simply loosening those muscles around the sciatic nerve would alleviate the problem. And sure enough, Waller has yet to miss a game this season.
