Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, officially listed as questionable with a neck injury, has 'a chance' to play Sunday against the Commanders.
Jordan Raanan is a reporter for NFL Nation at ESPN. Raanan covers the New York Giants. You can follow him via Twitter @JordanRaanan.. He was a limited participant in practice throughout the week. He did some throwing and individual drills, but has not yet been cleared for contact."We'll see," he said."We're talking to medical people and just take it day-by-day here."would make his second straight start if Jones is unable to play.
Barkley returned last Sunday after missing three games with a high ankle sprain. He was a limited participant in practices this week but was not given an injury designation. It still seems unlikely that Jones would play considering he did not take any team reps this week. But Daboll did not completely close the door.
"Yeah, he's played a lot of football for us. He's been in the system for a while. So, again, we'll take that one, get all the information and then make the right decision for him and for us," Daboll said. This isn't the first time Jones has injured his neck. He had a disc problem in 2022 that cost him the final six games of that season."I'm close. I'm pretty close," he said this week."I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing and trust the doctors and trainers and what they're telling me to do and keep going about it."
