The Giants' All Pro left tackle will attempt to play through the hamstring injury he suffered opening night against the Dallas Cowboys.
along the offensive line against the Cardinals with Marcus McKethan possibly replacing Mark Glowinski at right guard. It would be McKethan’s first career start after he missed his rookie season with a torn ACL.
As expected, the Giants will be without outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari, who suffered a hamstring injury Wednesday at practice during a one-on-one drill. Veteran Jihad Ward is likely to get the start in Ojulari’s place. The Giants also elevated Oshane Ximines from the practice squad to account for Ojulari’s absence.
This will be the 11th time in the last two seasons that Ojulari has missed a game. He only played six regular-season games last season because of a quad and ankle injuries and he was limited to 22 defensive snaps in the Giants’ two playoff games. The loss of Baker is a big one for the Cardinals, who are trying to rebound from their season-opening loss against the Washington Commanders. Baker is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All Pro who has only missed five games in his seven-year career.
In addition to Thomas and Ojulari, the Giants’ other inactives are receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, cornerback Darnay Holmes, safety Gervarrius Owens, tight end Lawrence Cager and defensive tackle Jordon Riley.
