Giant Eagle will start mailing its weekly printed ads after a three-month hiatus, the company announced Monday. Homes in the Cleveland area should start seeing ads in their mailbox again on Tuesday.
Giant Eagle announced Monday that it would relaunch mailed ads with a new, two-page circular. The company said the smaller ad is supposed to “streamline savings” by highlighting the best deals. It will also have a scannable QR code that will direct customers to the website.
Giant Eagle has been trying to move away from printed ads in Cleveland and elsewhere. In Pittsburgh, the grocer’s hometown, printed ads stopped in February. Customers inThe company had already stopped mailing ads in Columbus. But the Akron/Canton market kept getting ads even when Cleveland shoppers didn’t, and those residents will still get the old version of the ad for the time being.
