Giancarlo Esposito As Sidewinder Holding A Gun In Captain America Brave New World With SDCC Overlay

At Marvel's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, which ScreenRant attended, it was confirmed that the Breaking Bad actor will play Seth Voelker a.k.a. Sidewinder. Esposito made the announcement himself, saying, "I am the king of the Serpent Society, I am Seth Voelker, Sidewinder." Serpent Society's reveal delivers on a 12-year-old tease from Kevin Feige when he announced Captain America: Serpent Society before faking out audiences and changing it to Civil War.

The group's introduction also fits the Captain America: The Winter Soldier tone the film is going for and gives Sam Wilson a worthy opponent for his first outing as Captain America.
