She previously acted off-Broadway at the MCC Theater in “The Connector,” and played Eliza in the first national tour of Hamilton.

“As the day went on, more and more opening night gifts started coming in,” she said of the big day. A highlight was an “Inez Milholland prayer candle” someone sent. Dassonville and Cruz selected a gown by Nardos, jewels by Stephanie Gottlieb, shoes by SJP Collection and a clutch from Nina for the look. The stylist assisted Cruz in navigating the theater in a long gown, “making sure my train doesn’t drag while running from place to place.”
