Listen to BookaShade's TheHighsAreHigher below
German techno duo Booka Shade have been icons on the scene for nearly 15 years, with the latest demonstration of their driving, melodic style coming through today in a major way. Premiering exclusively on, their new single, "The Highs Are Higher," is a spare and moody seven-minute epic made for peak hour in a very dark club.
"Before we release new music, we like to test it out during our live shows, sometimes for months before release," the duo tell. "We then go back to the studio after each weekend, trying to get the sound and emotion just right." "It can be nerve wracking," they continue, "but when the reaction from the audience is as amazing as it has been, it’s the best reward we can possibly get! 'The Highs Are Higher' did some serious damage on the dance floor when we played it during our shows over the summer, so we are extremely happy to finally release it.”
This fresh music has gotten the ultimate dance world stamp of approval, getting rinsed by Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, Lane 8, Hernan Cattaneo, Nicole Moudaber, longtime collaborators M.A.N.D.Y and other dance world luminaries. Booka Shade is playing dates across Europe through late Nov. and will appear at Bedrock's ADE showcase along with Digweed, Hannes Bieger and Quivver on Oct. 16 in Amsterdam.
