Gerald Goines, the former Houston police officer whose lies led to two deaths, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
A jury on Tuesday handed the former narcotics officer, 60, the punishment for his role in orchestrating the deadly 2019 Harding Street drug raid that erupted in gunfire, killing homeowners Dennis Tuttle and his wife, Rhogena Nicholas , alongside their pet dog. Prosecutors, who requested a life sentence, showed at trial that Goines had a pattern of dishonesty that led up to him packing a search warrant used to enter the couple’s Pecan Park home with falsehoods.
