Season 2 picks up where season 1 left off, with Julien — still reeling from her father’s Me Too moment — teaming up with Gossip Girl in a partnership almost guaranteed to end in disaster for both parties. Zoya is still a clear outsider, determined to build a life for herself outside the Constance It girls. Audrey, Max, and Aki embark on the joys and difficulties ofThe structure of season 2 will be different, with one long block instead of two parts like season 1.
But the call is coming from inside the house. This season, Safran says, belongs to one Monet de Haan. She’s gunning for the crown. “That's why it's like the original show. I just wanted to separate a little bit from the original show to invent this new world and these characters,” he says. “But [Monet and Julien] is Blair and Serena at their most at each other's throats. That's the vibe here.
Season 1 ended on a hopeful note for Aki, Audrey, and Max, whose burgeoning throuple was a highlight of the season. There’s more to come for them, both good and bad. “We really sit with all of the things that are different or could not work or work better when you have three people in a relationship instead of just two,” Safran says.
