With most of the Football Bowl Subdivision now slated to play this fall, the Amway Coaches Poll is nearly back to its original preseason panel. As a result, there is a bit of shuffling in this week’s rankings with new teams becoming eligible to receive votes. Oh yeah, and there were a few actual upsets over the weekend as well.

Clemson and Alabama continue to show the way. The Tigers, who pulled away from Virginia to improve to 3-0, received 46 of 62 first-place votes. The Crimson Tide remain a solid No. 2 after rolling past Texas A&M, claiming 14 No. 1 nods this week. As fate would have it, there is a tie for third this week between Florida and Georgia. The Gators held the three spot alone a week ago and did nothing to lose it after handling South Carolina. The Bulldogs pulled into the tie after an equally dominant performance against then-No. 7 Auburn.

Notre Dame continues to round out the top five following a bye week. Ohio State, which will take the field in three weeks along with the rest of the Big Ten, stays put at No. 6 while retaining two first-place votes. Miami , which faces off against Clemson next week, climbs to No. 7. Penn State and North Carolina are next with Oklahoma State, the last remaining undefeated team in the Big 12, completing the top 10.
