The party accuses Duncan of supporting Democratic candidates, falsely claiming endorsements from Donald Trump, and lying about his academic and athletic achievements.

Late former President Jimmy Carter makes a final funeral procession from the U.S. Navy Memorial to the Capitol in Washington D.C.FILE - Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan leaves the Fulton County Courthouse, Aug. 14, 2023, in Atlanta.

“Duncan’s single term as Lieutenant Governor was marred by embarrassment and scandal,” the release reads. “In the final months of his term as Lieutenant Governor, Duncan sought openly to undermine and sabotage the candidacy of Burt Jones, the Republican nominee to succeed him as Lieutenant Governor, and in doing so, gave aid to the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor and violated his oath of allegiance to the Republican Party.

The release closes by officially expelling Duncan from the party and demanding he stop referring to himself as a Republican.Hard to believe this is a good use of time for a party that’s only got a limited amount of time to figure out mass deportations, world peace and global tariffs,” he jeered.
