The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will not work on the Interstate-81 bridge on Saturday, Oct. 22.
said weekend work on the bridge that spans the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties will only take place on Sunday “due to higher-than-normal traffic volumes expected for the Penn State football game.”
Weather permitting, traffic will be restricted to a single lane between Route 11/15 and Front Street from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23. The left and center lane will be closed. The right lane will remain open. “There may be delays. Motorists should seek alternate routes. Motorists traveling northbound on I-81 from Cumberland County and points south are encouraged to take eastbound Route 581 to northbound Interstate 83 to I-81,” PennDOT said.
The Penn State Nittany Lions will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 7:30 p.m. at Beaver Stadium. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
