Mad Max keeps coming back for more. The Mad Max franchise is a post-apocalyptic series directed by George Miller and Byron Kennedy, which has taken place over four decades, from low-budget movies to celebrated blockbusters.
The franchise includes five films, with the first one, released in 1979, starring Mel Gibson, followed by the revival in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road, where Tom Hardy took over the role from Gibson as Max Rockatansky. In a new report by Puck News, Miller has revealed plans for a new movie in the Mad Max franchise following the prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and its disappointing $175 million box-office performance.
Despite the prequel's poor performance, Miller has attracted interest from Amazon, Universal, and Sony Pictures, according to sources. There are also plans for a TV series before selling the property to the highest bidder. According to the reports, Warner Bros. , which distributed all five of the previous films, passed on Miller's plans for another movie and TV series. More to come...
