One day after George Floyd was laid to rest, his brother is speaking out about police reform: 'I couldn't take care of George the day he was killed, but maybe by speaking with you today, I can help make sure that his death isn't in vain.'

"The world knows him as George, but I called him Perry. Yesterday, we laid him to rest. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
Philonise went on to say that his brother"always" made sacrifices for his family and for"complete strangers." Philonise then pointed out that George's calls for help were"ignored," asking lawmakers to now listen to the"Please listen to the call I'm making to you now, to the calls of our family, and to the calls ringing out in the streets across the world. People of all backgrounds, genders and race have come together to demand change," he said. "Honor them, honor George, and make the necessary changes that make law enforcement the solution – and not the problem.
