The much-anticipated 2023 Netball World Cup kicked off in South Africa on Friday, with the Spar Proteas off to a winning start.
CAPE TOWN - Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis said the city is proud to host the first-ever Netball World Cup on African soil.
The tournament got underway on Friday at the Cape Town International Convention Centre , with the Spar Proteas off to a winning start. Hill-Lewis said Cape Town is determined to put on an unforgettable event for all visitors and spectators.“Even if you don't have a ticket for the matches, you can still be a part of the gees by going down to the Fan Park outside the CTICC where we will be screening all the matches along with great entertainment to keep the vibe going all day long.
"We also have four other public viewing areas in Langa, Khayelitsha, Bellville, and Mitchells Plain, so the whole of Cape Town can experience the excitement of the World Cup."Tune in to back the Proteas. First centre pass is coming soon.
