A multi-vehicle wreck in October has claimed another life, ALEA troopers announced Thursday.
In a Facebook post made Thursday, GHS said the school was deeply saddened by the loss of its student, A’Kera Scott, who was 16 years old and in her Junior year.Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd confirmed to News4 that Scott was the 16-year-old who succumbed to injuries from Wednesday’s wreck.
According to the fundraiser page, the car wreck happened while A’Kera traveled to Columbia Manor, a popular haunted house, with a friend. The wreck also claimed the life of Curtis Moore, 83, of Dothan. The teen, who was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with another car before hitting a trailer, as well as the 16-year-old driver were taken to the hospital from the scene of the wreck.was Curtis Moore, 83, who was a passenger in the SUV that struck the teens’ vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Moore was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Two other passengers were taken to the hospital after the wreck.
